Sheri Lemons, Laboratory Director

West Virginia State Police Forensic Laboratory

Sheri’s Bio:

I have been employed with the West Virginia State Police Forensic Laboratory since January 2002.  I began my career as a DNA Analyst prior to assuming the Assistant Director/Quality Assurance Manager duties in March of 2011.  I was appointed Acting Director in addition to my Quality Assurance Manager duties on April 1,2014.  In November of 2016 I was appointed Laboratory Director.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science (minor in Chemistry) in 1997 and my Masters of Science degree in Forensic Science in 2000, both from Marshall University.

I am responsible for the overall management of the Laboratory, including policy making, services provided, legislative actions, grant management, and its quality assurance program which ensures the Laboratory remains in compliance with all accreditation requirements including the FBI Quality Assurance Standards and ISO 17025 and ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

On a personal note, I am married to my husband Mike and have two children: Sophie (17) and Cole (11) and a very spoiled Schnauzer named Frazier.  In my free time I enjoy running, cross-training, pottery, gardening, spending time with my family and attending my children’s various school and extra-curricular activities.

In addition to attending a committee meeting, doing an online make-up, or visiting another Rotary Club you can now get one meeting credit for every new member prospect/guest you bring to a regular Monday meeting. The credit will apply during the same quarter in which you bring the potential member/guest. This is a great way to both make up attendance and recruit new members into our club. Contact Paul White with questions.
